S.I.U.S. On TheGirlDish: It’s A Small World After All

Yesterday my love and I went to one of our local wrestling g shows and got to meet “The Phenominal” A.J. Styles and see an amazing ladder match between some local wrestlers.

Before the show started, we ran into one of my man’s friends. His friend is a little older and brings his grand kids to see the local wrestling shows. Why does this matter?

Do you remember about a month or so ago when I posted an entry about my neighbors taking the parking spots I shovled? Okay good now remember that as I tell the story.

We were talking to his friend and he asked us how Wrestlemania was. One of the guys sitting next to him overheard and was infatuated with knowing that we went to Wrestlemania and stated talking to us too. Then, the two little girls (my man’s friend’s granddaughters) looked up at me, smiled and asked, “Do you know we’re your neighbors?”

My heart sank. I looked at them and replied, “No, I didn’t!” I turned to my boyfriend and said, “Babe, they are our neighbors kids.”

In that moment I thought about how mad I would get about the neighbors parking like weenies and how mad I would get when they would take all the parking in the back. Then I felt bad for asking the landlord to talk to them about sharing the parking.

It was like in one moment I made a connection to these little girls and instantly felt like a big jerk for always saying, “my neighbors are ***holes.”

Today when my boyfriend and I left the house to go food shopping we saw the little girls playing outside in the yard. I waved and smiled. The one girl got this big smile on her face and waved the biggest wave back that I have ever watched. It was one moment of two human beings treating each other like human beings.

I guess the point of this is to say one day you may think something and the next you might see a new side and form a new opinion. With that said, I will no longer be calling my neighbors anything negative and will keep in mind that everyone has a heart and some innocence.

I feel like this entry doesn’t explain the way I’m thinking of this situation because I really can’t explain it the way I’m thinking it in my head. Does that even make sense? I don’t know haha but I do know I’m turning over a new leaf so to speak and I’m going to start giving people the benefit of the doubt again.

It’s a small world after all.

Servin’ It Up Sundays on TheGirlDish: March Favorites

Hello lovlies! I’m back and out of that funk I found myself in all last week – THANK GOD! I missed my regular Sunday posting again >.< so I will be delivering to you something I’ve been dying to do for a few months but haven’t because I wasn’t sure how it would go over. Now that I really just don’t care about what everyone thinks, I’m going for it.

I know it’s already the middle of April, but I really wanted to do my March product favorites and figured better late than never. These products I’m going to be talking about are products that I’ve used all throughout the month of March and LOVED! If you use any of these or try any of them let me know what you think in the comments below!!!

 1. CoverGirl’s Ready, Set Gorgeous Fresh Complexion Oil Free Foundation

I love this product! I was introduced to it by Stephanie and Tracy from their YouTube channel, eleventhgorgeous. They were raving about this foundation in a video and they convinced me to go buy it. Now, let me start by saying I am not a foundation girl. Normally, I use Bare Minerals because my skin is very sensitive. I was skeptical because I thought this foundation would give my skin break outs and irritate it. I’m pleased to say this foundation didn’t do any of that and was absolutly beautiful on my skin. The only thing I didn’t like was that I couldn’t test the shade selections in the drugstore, however, I picked shade 110 and it was a perfect match for me. My favorite thing about this foundation is the coverage it gives because it’s not cake-like but it covers very well and also adds a beautiful glow to my face. This product gets five stars from me!

 2. NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder

Up until this year, I never did my eyebrows with makeup. I would keep them tweezed but that was it. Again, after watching some YouTube videos, I noticed how many of the gals would fill their eyebrows in. After looking all over the place for a drugstore product that would work with my eyebrows. I stumbled upon the NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in the shade ECP06 Blonde. It comes with a lighter powder and a darker powder, along with some brow gel, a spoolie brush and a small applicator brush. I use the lighter of the two shades and it really blends well with my root hair color. I never knew the importance of how your eyebrows can pull your entire face together.

 3. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer

So this is a bit embarrassing, but hey, we’re all friends here. I have a few small patches of very tiny spider veins on my thighs and calves and I was on the hunt to try anything to get rid of them. I even called a few places about getting injections. However, after a few rude people on the phone, I decided they weren’t bad enough to go that route. I wound up picking this product up totally by accident because I couldn’t find what I was looking for. After using it just one day, I noticed I wasn’t so pale and it made me ready for the sunshine. If you know me, then you’ll know I am not about the fake tan from tanning booths and would rather get some sun the good-ol’ fashioned way by being outside. I look at this product as preparation for shorts and skirt weather because honestly, my paleness was always something people would make fun of me for. This year, all they will be commenting on is my healthy glow.

 4. Vita-K Professional for Spider Veins

If you read the above paragraph, you’ll know why this is here. I bought this to minimize the appearance of my spider veins and I am so impressed with the results so far. After I use this product more, I plan to do a full review on just this product. The product’s directions says to apply it twice daily to the areas where the spider veins are prominent. I haven’t been following these instructions and have been using it once every-other-day so I don’t experience any irritation since I do have sensitive skin. The best thing about that, is that I’m still seeing results. I will recommend this to anyone looking to minimize the appearance of their spider veins.

 5. Vaseline Lip Therapy in Creme Brulee

This is a product that I have been using for a long time. During the winter, this SAVED my lips. I put it on every night before bed and I wake up with the softest, most luxurious feeling lips. It also looks nice under lipsticks. Some chapsticks make matte lipsticks look glossy, but I haven’t found that with this product.

 6. Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet

I’M IN LOVE WITH THIS PERFUME!!!!!!!!!! This is the perfect perfume for spring or really any time. It’s so luxurious and fabulous – I can’t even describe how it smells with anything other than elegant. The box describes it as this: “A Peony enveloped in velvety notes of White Musks. The caress of a sparkling floral.” It’s just absolutely beautiful. And the bottle is adorable also. So happy I splurged on this item because it was quite expensive at $75 for 50ml, but worth every penny to me.

 7. DoTerra Deep Blue Rub

This product was a gift from my mom along with a doTerra oil set. I have been using oils for a long time, especially peppermint for my headaches, and fell in love with this product. It’s a muscle rub infused with the doTerra Deep Blue essential oil. Any time I have any kind of pain or tension I rub this on and let the magic of the oils do their thing. I’ve used so many other muscle rubs over the years, but this one is by far my favorite. I especially love when I put it on a few hours before yoga class because after it wares off and I go to hot yoga, the heat re-activates the rub and it feels great! If you suffer from pain and have tried a bunch of muscle rubs and aren’t happy with them, I recommend you try this product.

Servin’ It Up Sundays on TheGirlDish: Wrestlemania 31

I know it’s a day late, but I’s sure my lovely readers will understand.

As a kid, I remember watching Wrestlemania nineteen’s promo with vaarious superstars explaining the prestige of the grandest stage of them all.

“You haven’t lived…you haven’t breathed until you’ve been to Wrestlemania,” said The Big Show.

The Rock said, “You just have to feel it.”

Twelve years later I’m sitting here at midnight recapping the events of Wrestlemania 31 in my head from experiencing the event live. As a fan, I never realized you could watch Wrestlemania and never truly experience it.

During the preshow most of the crowd was still making their way through the crazy lines, concession stands, and merch tables to get to their seats. There was some pretty good action during the preshow which included a fatal four way tag match for the tag team titles and the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

The Usos (accompanied by Niamo), Los Matadores (accompanied by El Torito), The New Day, and Cesaro and Tyson Kidd (accompanied by Natalya) competed for the tag titles and delivered in the action department. A six-man suplex off the ropes drove the crowd wild and ultimately aided in Cesaro and Tyson Kidd’s retention of the tag team championships.

After that, was the 20 man Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The battle royal was very exciting with the whole crowd at the edge of their seats. Ultimately, it came down to Miz, Mizdow, and Big Show in the ring. Mizdow turned on Miz and threw Miz over the top ropes to eliminate him but Big Show would be victorious.

Wrestlemania kicked off with the Intercontinental Championship ladder match, featuring Daniel Bryan, R-Truth, Bad News Barret, Dolf Ziggler, Star Dust, Luke Harper and Dean Ambrose.

Harper power bombed Ambrose off the side of the ring onto a couple ladders, which left Dean out of the rest of the match. Daniel Bryan and Dolf Ziggler found themselves head-butting it out at the top of a ladder in the center of the ring. Bryan would come out victorious and capture the Intercontinental Championship.

Next The Viper, Randy Orton and Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins came out to dance in the squared circle. The match was exciting and held the crowds interest. Rollins curb stomped Orton and then climbed to the top rope. As Rollins jumped and soared through the air, Orton quickly rose to his feet and gave Rollins a huge RKO mid-air and pinned Rollins for the 1-2-3 victory.

Perhaps the most anticipated match of the night, HHH vs. Sting. This was Sting’s first match in a WWE ring. Sting’s entrance was larger than life with big drums and a gong but what really got the crowd going was HHH’s entrance. HHH came out in a terminator type setting and blew the audience away. This match was full of plot twists and turns. Just as it was looking like HHH would lose, out came D-X to his aid.

Sting found himself in trouble when HHH went to grab the infamous sledgehammer. To the crowd’s surprise, out came the NOW. D-X and the NOW battled outside the ring, meanwhile, Sting had HHH in the scorpion leg lock. Just as the crowd thought Sting would win, HBK Shawn Michaels came out and gave Sting some sweet chin music,. Then HHH hit Sting with the sledgehammer, which gave him the win over Sting and shocked the crowd.

The Diva’s tag match between the Bella’s and Paige and AJ Lee was nothing special. You could tell the crowd was bored with it y the lack of crowd participation and also by the long line at the concession stand. The match ended quickly with Nikki Bella tapping out to AJ Lee’s black widow submission.

Rusev went one-on-one with John Cena for the U.S. Championship. The match was a mix of boring and excitement as the crowd seemed in and out. It became exciting towards the end when Cena broke free from Rusev;s accolade submission and applied his STF to Rusev. Lana tried to interfere but was knocked off the ring apron by Rusev accidentally, costing him the U.S. title after Cena hit the AA and got the three count.

The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt match was more psychological than physical. That could be because of the Undertaker’s age, or because of the persona portrayed by Wyatt. The match was a bit dry in the action department and ended with Undertaker nailing Wyatt with two tombstone piledrivers for the victory.

Finally, the main event: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar. The crowd was eager filled with anticipation as Reigns music started. Everyone was looking to see what side of the crowd he would be coming from. Reigns made his way to the ring looking confident, but that changed quickly.

Lesnar made his way to the ring accompanied by Paul Heyman. Once in the ring, Lesnar started demolishing Reigns. It was basically looking like it would be a repeat of Cena vs. Lesnar from 2014’s Summer Slam. Thensuddenly, Reigns starts to make a come back, pushing Lesnar into the steel pole at the side of the ring. Lesnar was bleeding and took a few superman punches and spears.

To the crowd’s surprise, just when we thought it could be over, music started to play. No! Can it be? Yes! Yes, it can. Seth Rollins came sprinting down the entrance ramp holding his Money in the Bank briefcase and ultimately chasing it in. The end of match excitement was unconfined at the Levi’s Stadium as Rollins delivered the curb stomp to Reigns for victory and became the first superstar to ever cash in the Money in the Bank contract at Wrestlemania.

Servin’ It Up Sundays On TheGirlDish: The Best Dairy-Free Creamer

I have been trying to ween myself off of some dairy products on an attempt to reduce the amount of headaches I get. If you’re like me, you probably love your morning coffee with flavored creamer. I’ve been experimenting with different kinds of dairy-free creamers, but when I found this one, it was bliss.

Silk brand has come out with an “even creamier” dairy-free soy creamer. I have to say it is delicious! I can’t even tell a difference in comparison to other dairy-free creamers I’ve tried. Normally, they all have a very runny consistency and turn your coffee an icky watered-down brown color. As you can see in the picture, the creamer really gives the coffee a nice color (plus it tastes great!)

Overall, I give the Silk Sou Creamer a BIG thumbs up and highly reccomend you try it if you are trying to cut out dairy or if you are lactose intolorent.

Have you tried any other dairy-free gems? Let me know in the comments below! Happy Sunday!!!!!

I hope you all enjoy this new series which will come to you all every Sunday. Without further ado, I bring to you the very first segment of Servin’ It Up Sundays On TheGirlDish.

Ten Tips for a Better Mood
*Disclaimer* By no means am I a doctor or health professional, so please consult with your physician before taking on any diet or exercise program or before taking any medication (over the counter or prescribed) to try to uplift your mood.

Winter is the time of year people find they are unhappier and in some cases with seasonal depression (consult your physician if you believe you are experiencing this). This can be due to the weather, the earlier nightfall, poor food choices around the holidays, ect. Here are ten ways you can naturally enhance your mood.

1. Meditate. This is at the top of my list because so many people do not take enough quiet time for themselves. Another reason why it is very important because it takes you back to your breath. You’d be surprised how often we hold our breaths throughout the day.
When you first try meditating, you will probably find it hard to sit still for even a few minutes without your mind being bombarded with thoughts. Meditation is a practice and every time is different. I’ve been meditating for about nine years now and I have days where I have a hard time being still in silence without my mind firing off like a loose cannon. The key is your breath. Take conscious breaths in and out. Every time you find yourself getting lost in thoughts come back to your breath. Doing this for even 5 minutes before you start your day every morning can really make a difference in your mood and how you handle stress.

2. Exercise. When you exercise you body releases endorphins that have been proven to put you in a better mood. Not to mention, exercise is a great stress reliever. If you don’t believe me, check out this article I found on Harvard Medical School’s website http://www.health.harvard.edu/newsweek/Exercise-and-Depression-report-excerpt.htm/

3. Eat Right. It’s not surprise that you are what you eat. If you’re always eating greasy, sugary, unhealthy foods, chances are you won’t be as happy as someone who puts more lean meats, leafy greens, and fruit in their diet. Eat good to feel good.

4. Drink Green Tea. Not only is green tea full of beneficial antioxidants, it’s a proven natural mood enhancer. According to Psychology Today’s web article Green tea on the Brain, it’s also good for your overall brain health. You can check that out here : http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/200306/green-tea-the-brain

5. Surround yourself with people who will give you energy, rather than people who will drain your energy. Don’t waste your time around people who will suck your energy from you. When you separate yourself from that you will notice a less tense environment. Also, you will find it a lot easier to enjoy your day.

6. Do the things you enjoy. You owe it to yourself to make time for things you like. I also believe if something makes you feel that badly, you should remove it from your To-Do List. Life was meant to enjoy, so why spend it doing things that you find unpleasant. Don’t get me wrong, we have obligations that may not be pleasant from time to time. .

Take having a bad day at work for example. Sometimes you just have a bad day. I’m not saying to quit your job, go back to school and start a new career that you think you’ll enjoy more because you had a bad day. However, if you find that day in and day out you are more and more unhappy at your job, maybe it’s time to analyze why. Is it your attitude? Your pay vs. job demands? Your boss? All of these things will help you decide if you should start job hunting, change your career, or change your attitude towards your current job. Does that make sense to you?

7. Be cautious of how you talk to yourself. Are you your own worst critic? Are you the kind of person who talks down to yourself and beats yourself up on a constant? Do yourself a favor – don’t. Treat yourself with respect and dignity just as you would a dear friend or family member. Being a positive reinforcement for you is very powerful!

8. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t worry about things you can’t control. There is no use in stressing over things especially when you have no control over the outcome. If anxiety and stress are heavy burdens on your shoulders, try meditation, yoga, getting a massage, or other relaxing activities. If the stresses of life become too much for you to bear, please, seek professional counsel.

9. Be Grateful. I know everyone has hardships and obstacles to face each day. While some are more daunting than others, always remember, it can always be worse than what it is. Take time each day to really account for all of the things you are grateful for – your car, your home, your family, food in your pantry, the clothes on your back. If you’re having a hard time with this exercise, chances are you are an ingrate. And that’s just being honest. If you can’t find something to be grateful for then you are too wrapped up in yourself and your own problems. Open your eyes and see that the world doesn’t revolve around you. It’s a harsh reality, but once I learned this, I became such a happier person.

10. Love Yourself. Take it from someone who hated everything about themselves – life is a lot more enjoyable when you learn how to love yourself for all that you are. Every flaw and imperfection doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Love yourself so you can let the rest of the world’s love in. You are a unique, beautiful individual and you deserve to be loved. Yes, you do. Do you want to know a secret? That love starts with you.

I hope these tips helped you out! Remember, your day is all that you make it to be!
